Where Challenges Become Opportunities

You’ve watched your child face challenges that go beyond typical school struggles—maybe it’s misunderstood behaviors, struggling to focus, or learning differences that others don’t see. It’s not easy to feel like your child’s potential is being overlooked.
You want your child to thrive, but finding the right help can feel overwhelming, and you often feel misunderstood when you try to seek answers from the school. Without the right support, your child may face:

Falling behind in school work and receiving poor grades
Missed opportunities due to cultural and language gaps
Unaddressed autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning disabilities
Emotional and social challenges that impact their development

It’s not about wanting more. It’s about wanting what’s best for them. That’s where I come in—to ensure your child is understood, celebrated, and supported both inside and outside the classroom.

Hi, I’m Carolina Rygula

EdS., M.A., PPS, LEP #4243

My primary goal with the families I assist is to make sure every child feels seen, heard, and supported.

With over 10 years of experience as a school psychologist in diverse K-12 settings—like Title I and Spanish immersion schools—and 18 years in mental health, I bring both expertise and empathy to my work.

As a licensed educational psychologist, I use a culturally attuned, strengths-based approach to celebrate your child’s unique character and abilities.

Together, we can create a plan to help your child succeed in school, relationships, and daily life. I’m happy to offer services in English or Spanish to support you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I think my child has learning differences?

If you suspect your child is struggling with learning, emotional, or behavioral issues, it's important to seek support early. If your attempt at managing directly with the school isn’t fitting your needs, I’m here for you. Schedule a consultation with me so we can discuss your concerns, identify any challenges, and create a plan to support your child’s success.

Are your assessments the same as the one my district is offering?

The objectives of a private assessment are the same as the objectives of the assessment your child can receive from the school. Districts offer psychoeducational assessments free of charge. I encourage all my clients to thoroughly explore their options, which we can discuss in your free consultation.

What is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP)?

A Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) is a specialist who provides culturally attuned assessments, counseling, and intervention services for children facing academic, emotional, or social challenges. As an LEP, I work closely with families and schools to ensure that each child receives personalized support, enabling them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Who benefits from your services?

My services are designed for children who are facing challenges in school, whether they need support with academic skills, emotional well-being, social interactions, or executive functioning. I also work with families who want culturally responsive and bilingual services tailored to their family’s specific needs.

What geographical areas do you serve?

I serve families in Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Davis, Dixon, and surrounding areas. I am able to travel to other areas if desired.

How long does the assessment process take?

The process begins with a free 30-minute consultation to understand your concerns. Depending on the type of assessment, it typically takes a few weeks to complete the evaluation and provide a detailed report. I make sure to keep you informed at every stage.

How should I prepare for an assessment?

After scheduling an assessment, I will provide you with guidance on what to prepare. Typically, gathering relevant school records, previous evaluations, if applicable, and observations about your child’s learning history is very helpful.

What can I expect from the assessment report?

The assessment report will provide an in-depth look at your child’s strengths, areas needing support, and recommendations for interventions. It will be a valuable tool for you to advocate for your child’s needs, whether at school or elsewhere.

What types of counseling services do you offer?

I offer educationally relevant counseling services designed to support your child’s social-emotional needs, helping improve their academic performance, behavior, and overall well-being. Sessions are customized to address each student's unique challenges.

How can counseling help my child?

Our counseling sessions help children build emotional resilience, improve social skills, and develop positive behaviors. By addressing emotional barriers, I aim to create a foundation for improved academic success and overall well-being.

What is Executive Functioning Skills Training?

Executive Functioning Skills Training is a focused program aimed at helping children improve skills like time management, organization, and emotional regulation. Through practical strategies and goal setting, we work together to help your child build the tools they need for success.

Where do you provide your services?

I proudly serve families in Napa, Sonoma, Solana, Davis, Dixon, and surrounding areas. Services can be provided in person or virtually, depending on your exact situation.

How do I schedule a consultation?

What are the costs involved?

Costs vary depending on the type of service or assessment needed. During the initial consultation, I’ll provide transparent information about rates so you know what to expect.

Do you accept insurance?

Private educational assessments, executive function training, and consultations are not typically covered by insurance. However, I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Can you provide a diagnosis?
